RBCC Homecoming Camp
RBC Connections, Riverside's alumni group, offers an exclusive week of camp each summer. This camp is called Homecoming Camp and it serves as an opportunity to reconnect with other former campers and share your stories from your days at Riverside. Enjoy all the camp activities including campfires, fellowship, Bible Study, worship through song, sightseeing, and more.
Schedule
Homecoming Camp begins at noon on Monday, August 4th and goes through Sunday, August 10th, after lunch.
Monday through Tuesday will be a spiritual retreat - a time for focus and reflection on your own personal relationship with Jesus. This is a 4-session retreat titled "Walking with the Shepherd." We will focus on our relationship with our Shepherd as expressed in Psalm 23. This will include times of Scripture study together as well as individually, music, reflection, and group interactions. Lisa Nelson from Elgin, IL will be facilitating this part of the week and we hope it will be a time of growth and refreshment!
Tuesday evening, Riverside will host a concert that will be open to the community featuring Ambassadors of Grace, a Southern Gospel Duet group. The group's members, Dennis and Cheryl Perkins, will be honoring the 60th anniversary of The Cathedral Quartet by performing a number of Southern Gospel songs that the Quartet has made famous over the years.
Pastor Rod Ankrom of Rhinelander, WI will be our speaker for the rest of the week. He will be speaking on our theme for this year, "Growing in Grace and Knowledge" based off of 2 Peter 3:18. The schedule for each day will start with breakfast in the Dining Hall, Bible Study, and a sharing time before lunch. Once lunch is finished, you and your family can enjoy free time until dinner. After dinner, there will be an evening session followed by a time of fellowship for those interested.
Friday evening, Christian trumpeter, Don Shire, will be performing a free concert at the Jensen Community Center in Amherst, WI with an ice cream social to follow.
On Saturday, we will have Matt Poe, a representative from PhilanthroCorp, on campus to present a 2-session seminar on "The Legacy of our Lives." You will be encouraged to think about what kind of legacy you are living and leaving for the future.
The week will end with a combined worship service with Badger Community Church, a church that has had a long history with Riverside. Following the church service, there will be a fellowship potluck meal for everyone. Homecoming Camp will end around 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 10.
